We had a great time last weekend at the Arts Festival. The weather was perfect!! We laid out on the beach all day Friday and then spent all day Saturday at the Festival. The art is just amazing there. A lot of it I would never find a spot for it in my house but its very interesting. We did actually buy a few things this year. We bought his parents a painting of a Fairhope sunset to put in the house down there and also a smaller painting of the town. For ourselves, we just bought a couple of small paintings to go in the room with the pool table. Maybe next year we can buy a nice painting for ourselves.

This entire road was filled with all different kinds of food

Some of the artists would work right thereJimmy Buffet's sister, Lulu

Read Across America

Today was Dr. Seuss's Birthday so we celebrated it at school with Read Across America Day. My co-workers and I dressed up as the Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and 2. I did this last year too and the kids just love it! I mean who doesnt love a teacher with blue hair? haha I also cooked green eggs and ham and we had lots of visitors come read to us. It was very eventful, but a fun day for the kids. Here are a few pictures.

Happy Mardi Gras

Riley and I and our good friends, Cameron and Courtney headed down to Fairhope this weekend for the Mardi Gras activities. We had so much fun and the weather was really good too. I took the day off Friday...I call it a sanity day (since I was out of personal days). There was a kindergarten parade that Riley and I actually caught on Friday when we walked into town. They were adorable (little kindergarteners trying to throw out beads...that was the longest parade!) Friday and Saturday night were the fun parades downtown. Now watching the parades in Fairhope is nothing like watching them in New Orleans or even Mobile, but its a little more my style now! After the parades we headed off the one of my favorite places to eat and listen to some music. On Saturday we were lucky enough to find FREE crawfish!! YUM! That is one of my favorite things about Mardi Gras, you know its crawfish time!! We had a blast and got plenty of beads (innocently!) Although Riley and Cameron were fighting old women for them!!! Those women there are serious about some Mardi Gras!

Brilyn and Ainslee

Here are a few pictures of my niece and nephew, Brilyn and Ainslee. They are adorable and growing so fast. Most of them are from Sunday night dinners at Riley's moms house.Brilyn and Ainslee with MiMi

A beatiful day

What a beautiful day it was today!! Riley and I decided to get up this morning and eat breakfast at the Waysider. YUM! I sure have missed those biscuits! I havent eaten there since Riley and I first started dating. If Riley falls into his Dad's habits, he will be eating there about 3 times a week! haha. It was so pretty all day long though. We ran around town and did a few things and just enjoyed being out. It was nice to see the sun out for a change!
