Cyndee's bachelorette weekend

Labor day weekend I headed down to Destin for my friend Cyndee Grey's bachelorette/lingerie party. Kimberly and I were the hostesses of this one. Luckily we dodged Gustav and had a great weekend! Cyndee had a "tiki" theme for her party. I love the themes, I think they are so cute!

Becca's bachelorette

I am a little behind on my post but I have been quite busy for the past three weekends. I will try to catch up. The weekend of August 22, we went down to Gulf Shores for Becca's bachelorette weekend. We had a great time even though Fay was there. We didn't get to play on the beach, but we did get to relax and have some great girl time together! Each of us have had a "theme" for our parties and Becca's was a Mexican theme the second night. That might explain some of the pictures!

A little here and there...

Right before we got married we started just doing a little bit to the house here and there. Buying furniture, painting (inside and out) and making it look more like home. It takes a lot and sometimes its just frustrating because I want it all done right now, but I know one day it will all be done the way I like. This weekend we added a little more because we finally picked up our wine console and ottoman that we bought for one of the rooms. And we are looking for bedroom furniture, but we haven't really found any we absolutely love yet.

Friday Fun

This past Friday night Riley and I were so tired so we decided to stay in and make something at home. When we do this we usually make a good pizza with all our favorite toppings or grill but I had bought some ciabatta bread at Publix so we decided to make a really good, creative sandwich. (We really watch TOO much food network!) Well we had a lot of fun doing it and the sandwich was huge because of all the stuff we put on it...and also very, very tasty!!

Before we put it in the oven...It is HUGE! (Yes that is my
Mature husband giving it bunny ears!)

Riley looking very excited to make the first cut! :)

Weekend in Fairhope

Riley and I decided to go to Fairhope for the weekend and so we ask our friends Cameron and Courtney to go with us. We had such a great time! When we got there on Friday we knew exactly where we wanted to eat...the Gumbo Shack. I dont know how many of you watch the Food Network but Riley and I are obsessed with it and watch pretty much every show that comes on (yes, Riley likes the food network because he loves FOOD!) But, the Gumbo Shack was featured on that show Guy's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Riley's parents have had the house for 5 years and they never knew it existed and Fairhope is a very small town. So I was so excited about going there and it was very good! Saturday, Riley and Cameron went to the Grandhotel and hit a few golf balls while we shopped. Fairhope has the cutest stores. It really is the cutest town. Everytime I come back I talk about how much I would love to live there if I could take everyone with me! We then met the guys at the Grandhotel and just laid out at the pool since it was so hot and you had to stay in the water. It was just a very relaxing, fun weekend. We are so glad that Cameron and Courtney were able to go with us! I don't have any pictures because I forgot my camera!

Back to School

Well I guess summer had to end sometime and I would have to eventually go back to school. But it just seemed too soon this year. I know I am very fortunate to even have a summer but I promise you...it is well needed! But despite how long I want my summer to last...it ended and I started back on Monday. The kids came back today. I walked in this morning to 17 smiling 1st graders! It was a good day. But my husband really helped start it off right. This is my 3rd year to teach and every year from him I have gotten flowers and a card on the first day of school. I kind of thought I might not get them this year because the first year was of course for my first year and the second year was because I was at a new school, so I thought well...I shouldn't expect them this year! But he did and they were beautiful and his cards always make me laugh! I just have to share that his card was a sympathy card and it said "in your time of pain!" It took me a second to get it and I would have never thought to even do that! I had a great first day with my new set of 1st graders!

Kim & Eli's Wedding

We enjoyed another wedding this past Saturday. Two of my good friends from college got married in Birmingham. They also met at the Student Rec. Center on campus like Riley and I. It was great to see some of my college friends again. That is the great thing about all of these weddings...each one is like another reunion! The wedding was beautiful and the reception was also very nice. They had sooo much food...it was very hard to choose, I was embarrassed at how much I had on my plate!! We had a wonderful time!Riley and I at the receptionBecca, Ashley & myself at the receptionThe beautiful bride & myselfMe with the groom
