Fun at Granna and PawPaws

Last week, I went to Mom and Dads to have lunch for my Dad's birthday.  Mom and Dad got to keep AR for a while so I could watch and learn from my Granny how to can some good ol' grean beans!  We love them at our house and she always does them for me but I thought I should learn myself!  Anna Riley had a great time getting lots of kisses as usual from everyone!

A child of God

After each  Zumba class, we always have a short prayer group for anyone that wants to stay and pray (another reason that I have loved going to my class...such amazing people!)  Well last week Rachel, our teacher, ask for prayer for this little 2 year old boy that had cancer that had spread to his brain and I just couldn't get that out of my head.  I didn't know the family but I felt so bad for them .  Last night, a girl ask for prayer for best friends 4 month old girl that had cancer.  This one hit even closer to home since Anna Riley is also 4 months old.  I think everyone in the prayer circle shed a tear for this family that we did not know.  My heart hurts so bad for his family.  I came home and told Riley and just couldn't get it off of my mind.  Anna Riley was already asleep but I couldn't help it, I went in and got her and just held her and rocked her.  Riley insisted she sleep with us last night (something that rarely happens anymore).  I just held her all night and woke up several times thinking of this family.  I know Anna Riley is a child of God.  She belongs to him and he can take her at anytime.  I thank God everyday for having such a healthy baby but as we all know it could happen to any of us. I just kept putting myself in those parents shoes and I just dont know what I would do.  I just don't want to take my time with her or any of my family for that matter for granted now or ever.  I am sure those parents are spending each day with their little girl as if it were there last...even if she overcomes this cancer and lives to be 100!   I know you dont know these families as I dont either...but when you pray, think of them.  You know if it were your child, you would want the whole world praying for them!

Sweet Potatoes

So I didn't listen to the doctor.  I don't plan on trying a lot of different foods right now but I definitely think she is ready for something more than cereal.  And she did great with the cereal.  You would think she was born to eat!  haha She really picked up eating with a spoon pretty fast and had no problems with constipation from the cereal.  I read that sweet potatoes are a really good 1st food and some people actually use it rather than a cereal because its easy on the tummy but has enough fiber to not cause constipation as much.  I had originally planned to wait a little longer, but I had read that and we were eating sweet potates that night anyway and so I just couldnt resist.  I also decided to make her rice cereal this morning because I had just been using the store bought kind (which is oh so gross!).  I tasted it and it was much better.  I am sure she liked it better too but she really has shown no emotion to any of it other than "give it to me!" haha.

Today, a year ago...

We found out our lives were about to change. It wasn't how we were planning it but God had an even better plan! I wouldn't change one thing! From the moment we found out, we were so thrilled and excited! We knew our little family was growing.

9 months later, God blessed us with a beautiful, healthy baby girl!

She is growing so fast and makes us so happy each day! We are so blessed to be her parents!

Pool Fun

Tuesday, Anna Riley and I went to Berry for a while to visit.  We went swimming for a little while at my cousins new house and she actually got to use her float. She got lots of attention from Granna and Paw paw (my mom and Dad), Granny (my grandmother), Meme (my Aunt Kat) and all the kids.

Being at the particular house brought back lots of childhood/high school memories.  I had spent a lot of time at this house growing up because my friend, Heather's family lived there then. Now we have babies that are just a month apart.

Bedtime Stories with Daddy

Since Anna Riley has been born we have always tried to read a bedtime story or sing a song and say our prayers but now that she is getting a little bigger we can actually make it through a whole book and somethimes two.  And she actually shows more interest in it.  Being a teacher, I love reading picture books but I have to share the time with Daddy and let him do it too.  I am so glad that he enjoys doing this with her and realizes how important it is.
