Easter Sunday at Granny Earnest's House

While Riley was at church, I took some medicine and went back to bed and when I woke up I was feeling much better...and hungry!  I really, really didn't want to miss Easter at my Granny's house.  It is my favorite time!  I love that they still hunt the real eggs (like 200 of them!! plus some plastic ones for the little kids).  I love seeing my cousins and their kids and all of my family.  I love a day in the country...seeing the kids ride the 4wheelers and golfcarts and climb trees.  I love that Anna Riley loves all of this too!!  I was in tears thinking that I might miss this.   I didn't look too great, but we made it there!

I treasure the memories I have of all the holidays I have but especially of Easter at Granny and Papa's House.  I am so glad Anna Riley and Ava Kate are getting to experience it too!

Easter 2012

Easter wasn't exactly as I planned but that is life.  Anna Riley and I had been sick with a stomach virus on Thursday and even though I was over the bug, I just couldn't get to feeling better.  I had slept all day Friday and still didn't feel well Saturday.  After dinner at Riley's Dad's house, neither Riley or myself felt that great.  I knew we were both exhausted and I was still somewhat dehydrated but I woke up Sunday morning with a migraine.  I was so upset to not be able to go to church with my family but I knew I needed to rest and get better.  We ended up meeting my Dad with Anna Riley and let go to church with them. I wanted her to go there so that in case I didn't get to feeling better, she wouldn't miss out on going to my grandmothers for lunch and the big egg hunt with all of our cousins.   Riley took Ava Kate to our church.
Even though I couldn't be in church and worship on Easter, I was still ever more thankful for all the sacrifices that were made so that I could be here today!

The girls got their Easter goodies...
Anna Riley got an Alabama hat, some flip flops, paint book and sticker book, play jewelry, some inch bug labels for her sippy cup and candy
Ava Kate got some new teething toys and rattle toys, a mermaid doll, inch bug labels for her cups, a paci clip and a new bracelet
And they got a new bubble machine, books and two movies to share

Egg Hunt at Pop Pop's House

Saturday, we got together with Riley's family for dinner and a little egg hunt at Pop Pop's house.
Ready to hunt eggs
Checking it out
She wanted me to get it because she didn't want to climb up
the mulch and get her feet dirty! Oh my!
She is so girly one minute but then climbing trees the next!

Next year we will have two more hunting eggs!

Happy 1/2 year, Ava Kate!

How quickly 6 months has flown by!
Ava Kate is now 6 months old (as of Friday, April 6).

- Ava Kate weighs 18 lbs and 4 oz. and is 27 1/2 in. long (just 4oz bigger and 1/2 shorter than AR at this age).
-She eats 7-8oz every 4 hours and eats a "meal" 2-3 times a day.
- She has oatmeal most mornings and has tried sweet potatoes, applesauce, bananas and purple hull peas and liked them all.
-She eats really well with the spoon and loves her sippy cup.

-She is on a great schedule and is such a great little sleeper.  She likes to be in bed around 7 and she will sleep until 7 or 7:30 the next morning.  She takes a shorter morning nap (30min-hour) around 9 or 9:30 and then takes another nap when her big sister does after lunch and that nap she will sleep anywhere from 2-3 hours and sometimes I have had to go wake her up.

-She loves to sleep on her tummy and hold both her bunnies...one in each arm.

-I rarely have had to go in to soothe her but lately I have had to go move her back to the top of the bed because she moves her way down to the bottom and then she is stuck.

-Her fine motor skills are really in action lately.  She is grabbing everything in sight and 90% of it, she puts in her mouth.
-She likes to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse like her Big Sis always did.
-She smiles and laughs all the time...she is such a happy baby!
-She thinks Anna Riley hung the moon!  She looks up to her so much already!
-She loves bathtime and gets so excited when she sees its time to get in!

-She is getting stronger with her sitting but is still a little wobbly.
-She loves to play on her tummy and her back under her playmat.
-She still likes the exersaucer for now.
-She kicks her legs and feet all the time.
-She loves to play with her feet!
-She does this thing with her right wrist where it looks like she is almost waving but I know its too soon for that but it is cute anyway! :)

-She has big brown eyes that she gets the most complements on all the time!
-She looks just like her Daddy when he was a baby.
-She has the cutest, chunkiest legs!
-She is a very laid back, happy go lucky baby!

Happy 1/2 year Ava Kate!  We love you!
