Christmas with Papa Doug

Wednesday night we had Christmas with "Papa Doug."  The kids enjoyed opening up all of their gifts!  Anna Riley got a Grow with me kitchen set that she just loves, a little bunny, a riding toy that she would rather push, a princess chair, a leap frog toy and some beautiful pop up books that everyone enjoyed looking at! This was her first time opening the presents and much to my surprise, she was more untested in the present than the paper!  She wanted the present out to play with it and didn't really care about opening the next one.
We really missed Nana being there but we know she was watching from heaven with a big smile on her face!

Just playing around...

Anna Riley loves the kitchen at Papa Doug's house...good thing he
is getting her a smaller one for Christmas or she would probably be sad to part with it!

Sunday night Pizza night

Since staying with "Papa Doug"  we have kind of developed a tradition of ordering a pizza every Sunday night.  Anna Riley really seems to love pizza nights!  She eats the supreme pizza with us and seems to like all the toppings...her favorites are the sausages and bell peppers!
Do you love her hair? She put pizza all in it!

Such a big girl...

Sunday afternoon, we decided to turn Anna Riley's carseat around face forward.  I had been trying to hold off as long as I could until the one year mark but she was just so uncomfortable.  Because her legs are so long, she just seemed so scrunched up and it made for not fun car rides!! We even have a DVD player and she would just kick it or unplug it because she could reach it so it was just time!  Once we turned her around, she just started kicking her legs like "Wow, look at all this room!" :)

My little gymnast...

I have said before, Anna Riley would make a great gymnast right now! I wish I could put her in a gymnastics class now because I know she would love it but the only ones I see start around 2. This girl LOVES to do flips! It scares the grandparents to death sometimes. She will wear you out because she wants to do like twenty flips in a row and then just comes up laughing!! And now since her Daddy started letting her drop her Bunny and then bend backwards to pick it up, that is her new thing right before bed...but not just one time, over and over! She throws it down and immediately bending backwards to get it! She tried doing this in a restaurant the other night!! Oh my!

Riley's Birthday

Riley's birthday was last Thursday.  He turned 33!  :)  I don't know if I have mentioned on here before but he ask for a very elaborate meal each birthday...are you ready for this...Spam and macaroni and cheese! :)  Yes, that is what is wants each year so that is what he gets!  I did make some really good 5 cheese macaroni and a couple more things to go with it.  He also wanted an Earthquake cake as his birthday cake.  Thursday night, his family went to eat at the Tin Top with us.
Since, I didn't post on this on his Birthday...Thanks for everything Riley!  I don't know what we would do without you! We love you!! Hope you had a wonderful birthday! :)

First steps...

Yesterday, Anna Riley took her first steps!  She had been walking, holding one of our hands all weekend so I knew she was so close but she just gets scared and sits down.  But, yesterday while Riley was home for lunch we were in the floor playing and I stood her up and she took off walking to me as fast as she could go!  We were so excited and she didn't know what all the excitment was for. I was so happy that Riley and I both got to see one of her big milestones!! Last night, she walked (holding my hand) from the kitchen all the way to the bathroom...and wow that took some time but she loved it!  My little baby is growing up just a little too fast!!
