Update

Update on my MIL:

She is making progress!!  They have been able to pull a good bit of fluids off of her through the dialysis but she is also producing more urine on her own so that is great! Her swelling is coming down some.  The doctors are hoping to close her up either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning.  Before closing her up, they are going to take care of a few problems she had prior to the aneurysm bursting which was a fistula and the abscess that she has.  They had not wanted to open her back up and were trying to try all other options first but since she is already open, they can hopefully take care of it now.  Thanks for all the prayers...just please continue to pray for her and our family.
WE LOVE YOU NANA!!
PLEASE GET WELL SOON!!

Cereal

We fed A.R. cereal with a spoon for the first time Sunday night.   She caught on fast and seemed to really like it.  She was trying to grab the spoon and then would stick her fist in her mouth so what a wonderful mess...good thing bath time was next!  I can't wait for her to try different foods and I am so excited about making it!

I am asking again for prayers for my Mother-in-law.  It has been a very emotional weekend.  Friday morning, an aneurysm she had on her spleen burst. After getting her stable, they took her to surgery to try to get the bleeding to stop.  She coded twice on the table and her heart stopped for a total of 6 min (2 before surgery and 4 during).  They were not able to close her up from this surgery because of all the fluid and swelling she has. Therefore she is unconscious and they have her paralyzed from the neck down. They have been concerned about her kidney function because she has not produced a lot of urine.  As of today, she was producing more so that is a good sign.  They started dialysis tonight to hopefully pull some of the fluids off.  The doctors are saying they are cautiously optimistic about her situation. Another concern is her brain function.  They have did one catscan and didnt see any signs of a stroke but need to do another one to be sure.  If you know her, you know what a wonderful person she is.  She has been through so much but you will never hear her complain or question it.  She just knows God has a plan for her.   Please remember her and our family through this extremely hard time.

4 months old

Anna Riley is 4 months old today! I just can't believe how fast she is growing! Here is what she is doing at 4 months:

*She weighs somewhere between 15 and 16 lbs. and is about 24 inches long (we will know for sure after her appointment next Wednesday.)
*She wears size 2 diapers and mostly size 6-9 month clothes.  She can still wear a few of the 3 month smocked dresses. (The pants in the 6 months are even a little short but a little big in the waist...good thing we arent wearing any pants right now!)
*She eats around 6 ounces every 3-4 hours.
*She takes usually 3 naps a day but sometimes she fits a 4th in there because she cat naps.  The longest she usually naps is about an hour. Bedtime is at or close to 8:00 everynight.
*She does not have to be rocked to sleep and actually does much better if I rock her for a minute and lay her down.  She still really enjoys storytime and is starting to want to turn the pages, eat the book, etc.  She plays with her hands and moans until she goes to sleep.  She sleeps with her Bunny and loves to cuddle with him.
*She still wakes up once during the night but goes right back to sleep.  I love listening to her in the mornings on the monitor after she has woken up...she has the best converstations with herself!
*She loves chewing/sucking on her fingers.  She has even gagged herself a few times because she would stick her fist so far in her mouth!
*She is drooling like crazy and she is having to wearing more bibs now.
*She has become quite vocal!  While shopping the other day, a lady in one of the stores commented on how talkative she was and went on to say she thought she might be a singer one day! haha...not a chance if she takes after her Mama! :)    But she is definitely used to music because her Daddy always has some on!
*She still loves her paci but often chooses to suck on her fist or fingers instead.  She will take her paci out of mouth and sling it and has put it back in a few times.  She has a harder time getting it in there the right way.
*She still loves to stand or sit up in your lap.  She wants to see everything!
*She has the cutest little tummy!  A little 4 year old girl at the beach had came up and started playing with her and she ask if Anna Riley had a baby in her tummy!  haha
*She just now has enough hair for a little hairbow. Her hair is growing in some spots but she is getting a little bald spot on the back of her head.
*Her hair is light brown but in some pictures it seems to have a red tint (not really in person though).  It is definitely going to be curly.  It is already starting to curl on the sides when it gets wet.
*Her eyes are brown. (It cracks me up when people come up to her and say oh look at those pretty green or blue eyes!...haha...they are definitely brown people! :)
*She has some of my features but is still the spitting image of her Daddy!
*She still has blocked tear ducts (thats why her eyes are always watery) and a strawberry on her side both should be gone by age 1.  I hope the blocked tear duct is way before then because I think it drives us both crazy!
*Loves playing on the floor mat, with her toys in on her bumbo tray and her new exersauser.
*She can roll from her tummy to back and now from her back to her tummy!
*She has had one little cold and the beach cleared it right up in just a day! (The cure to everything isnt it??)
*LOVES bathtime!
*She recognizes her name
*She smiles all the time and her laugh is just too cute!
*She loves the TV. I am trying to break the habit of having it on most of the day as background noise because that could be very bad! haha. We do watch our favorite show together...Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! :)

*Is starting to notice her feet.  She will just kick them up in the air and look at them.
She is our pride and joy and we are so blessed to have her in our lives!

Destin Day 5

This was our last day!  (I know you are tired of the beach posts!) We had a great trip, even though Riley had to work for part of it, we still got to be at the beach and spend time together.

Ready to go eat breakfast ( she is watching TV again and no I do not let her do this all the time at home but it was keeping her entertained in the hotel room! haha)

Ok below was my attempt at taking some cute pictures on the beach! Oh how funny!  I had not really planned on doing this but thought I would give it a try.
Oh yes and she did eat the sand...didnt seem to bother her! She actually seemed to like it! haha
She stayed like this in her stroller for a while...she liked propping her arm up!

Destin Day 4

Another great day at the beach!  As the week went on...it got more and more relaxing! :) The weather was great too!
