Picture with Santa

Anna Riley had her picture made with Santa when we went to "Breakfast with Santa" back in Novemeber.  I just got the picture back a few weeks ago and scanned it in.  She didn't cry but she wasn't too thrilled to be sitting in the Big Man's lap!  Her little eyes were filling up with tears as the picture was being taken so I am sure it was about to get ugly when I got her.  It will be interesting to see how she reacts next year!

YAY for sleep

I'm not trying to jinx us or anything but like I said in Anna Riley's 10 month post...sleep has not been so good around here lately!  She had a cold and then was taking medicine for a sinus infection.  I really couldn't remember the last time we had the bed to ourselves a whole night!  She would start coughing so bad and sometimes would cough until she gagged or threw up so she would end up with us!  BUT...I am so happy to say she has been sleeping from around 7:30-7:30 since Saturday night in her crib! Hallelujah!!!  It really reminded of the days of her being a newborn again with no sleep because that is how I felt!  She is NOT a good sleeper in the bed with us!  She literally flops like a fish back and forth from me to Riley.  One night she slept with her feet by our heads and she was holding on to Riley's leg for dear life!  Another night, she slept with her feet kicking me in the side and her head at his chest.  But, Mom just says I am getting paid back because I was never a good sleeper and always cried to come in their bed and if I was there, I couldn't be still!!  haha
Riley will probably kill me for putting this picture on here but I just couldn't resist! :)

Update

The work we have been doing on our house is finally finished! YAY!  However, we had made the decision a while back to stay at Riley's Dad's house until after Christmas.  It would just be too much to try to get settled back in right now and plus we have no decorations at our house so that would not be fun! And I have a lot of work to do to get it all put back together and organized!  But don't worry I have been getting all of those Christmas cards you have been sending...wouldn't miss those!
For those that were asking...we added a bonus room (playrooom), guest bathroom, some closet space and opened up a wall that was between our living and dining rooms.  We also did a few cosmetic things like paint, crown mold, kitchen backsplash, etc.  I am pleased with the way it turned out but seriously hope to not do anything to our house for a while! I am just so thankful my Father-in-law opened up with house to us because I just don't think we could have lived in such a mess!   I tried to take several before pictures so one day we could show Anna Riley what the house looked like when she was born. So, I will try to post some before and after pictures sometime soon.

Playdate at CHOM

We had a playdate with the Thomas girls at the Children's Hands on Museum.  Anna Riley loves this place!  We had lunch at Olive Garden afterwards.

Bloct tear duct update

We went for our recheck with Dr. Kurdirka yesterday.  We got pretty good news.  We get to hold off on the surgery for now but we are still not in the clear.  He said that he was very surprised to see that she had improved so that was a good thing but it was still not opened up all the way.  He was going to give her another two months which would put her at a year old and see where she is.  So hopefully we can bypass it all together but if not at least we are pushing it back a little further! :)

10 months old (Dec. 4)

Wow this month really flew by and Anna Riley is now 10 months old!!  Here is what she has been up to this month...
* She weighs around 21 lbs...she weighed 22.5 this morning at the doctor's office with clothes and shoes on.  I am assuming she is somewhere close to 30 inches long still.
* She is now in size 4 diapers and still wears 12-18 month clothes.
* Her shoe size depends on the type of shoe it is.

* She takes 2 really naps a day.  Usually each 2 hours long.
*She has 3 teeth and I am pretty sure another one on top is trying to come through.
* Has not been sleeping good at night here lately.  She almost alternates a good night then bad night.  When I say bad, its not terrible but she used to be such a good sleeper.  She has also had a cold and that has led to a sinus infection so hopefully after all that we will get back on track...hopefully!

*On the note of not sleeping good, she has also been waking up way earlier than what I am used to since the time change! She used to be very consistent and woke up around 8 every morning and now its often 6:30.  But some mornings its 7, 7:30 but then sometimes 8:30 or even 9! So we are working on getting back on a routine with that.  Just when she is on a good routine...a time change has to go throw it all off!  :)

* She is still a great eater for the meantime anyways.  She eats pretty much everything we do with the exception of spicy foods.  We call her our garbage disposal because there are only a few things that Riley and I don't like, but she likes those foods too.  She tried olives (which we both hate)  for the first time the other night.  She loved them so I gave her all the olives my pizza and she ate them all! She also loves tuna and I can't even stand to smell it...but Riley eats it all the time so he gives it to her.  Food is food to her, it doesn't matter what it is!  I am just thankful for a good eater and hope she stays that way for a good long while!

*She is becoming more mobile.  She is all over the place! No walking yet though.  She has almost took a step but she just leaned over instead.  She walks with anything she can find though including the laundry basket, her baby stroller, chairs...if she can push it she will walk with it.

*Likes, I mean loves cabinet doors!  Why do all babies/toddlers like cabinets???
*Loves looking at her books but does not want you to read them to her
*Every time we are in the car, she takes off her right shoe and sock!  Yes, only the right one!!
*She has figured out that many of her shoes squeak and she loves it! She just bounces up and down to hear the squeaking noise!

*She is even more attached to her Bunny lovey.  We have even had to take it in restaurants because she wouldn't let go of it.
*She is saying "DaDa" "ByeBye" and "UhOh" and says them all the time!

*She has not taken after me, because we found out she loves dogs.  Our friends' have a lab that is very good with kids and she loves her!  So much against my will, Daddy says a dog is in the future! I do love watching how excited she is with it though.
Its just her size!

*She has had a little bit of an attitude here lately and we are definitely having to get on our game about being consistent and redirecting and all that.  She has days where I am like are we entering the terrible two's and she isn't even one yet?! She is a good child but she definitely has her moments...I have a few videos to prove it! :)
*We are definitely seeing more toddler everyday and less baby which is so bittersweet!
I just had to throw the last picture in...This is how our picture sessions usually go!  :)

**I cant believe its only 2 more months until my little baby will be ONE!

Thanksgiving Weekend in Fairhope

We spent Thanksgiving weekend in Fairhope with my parents and Riley's Dad.  So, needless to say, Anna Riley came back pretty spoiled!  We had a wonderful time though with the exception of that horrible ending to the Iron Bowl game on Friday!! :(  Mom and I did lots and lots of shopping and I can say that I have most of my Christmas shopping done and it feels great!  I do have just a couple more items to pick up but that's it.  It was so nice to have both of our parents there and Anna Riley just loved all the attention she got.  And you can tell too because she has been quite the drama queen this week!! :)
