Weekend in Atlanta

We left Friday around lunch and headed to Atlanta.  We had a jam-packed weekend but it was so great to see three of my best friends.  We stayed the weekend with Cyndee and Dan in their new, beautiful home. Anna Riley LOVED their stairs and went up and down oh about 100 times!  Cyndee taught AR how to "fist pump" and so that was her new thing all weekend!!  :)  They are always the best hosts!

Friday night,  we ordered food in and their friends Shellie and Brandon came over with their little girl Collins.  Collins just turned one so her and Anna Riley had fun together.

Saturday morning after going to eat breakfast, Riley and I took AR to the aquarium.  She had lots of fun and so did we but that is for another post.

That afternoon, Cyndee, Anna Riley and myself went to Becca's house.  She and Zach just welcomed baby Evan to their family on August 11.

 Saturday night, Dan cooked for us.  We grilled steak and he made aspargus, tomato basil salad and Gouda corn...oh wow!  SO good...I am still craving that corn!! 
Sunday, we headed to see Kimberly and Cory and their brand new baby, Colin Alexander.  Colin was born on Thursday and they came home on Saturday so it was just in time for me to see him before heading back home!!  Zach, Becca, Zoe and Evan also came by!

These two will be the best friends and cousins!! Only one week apart!

Our trips always go by way too quick!!  I love these girls and I am so glad they are in my life.  I am so happy for each of them and their little familes!  I can't wait to see them again soon.

Miscellany Monday

Doctor's Appointment:

We went to the doctor today and we also got the 4D done again.  I was so amazed at how much she looks like Anna Riley's 4D, you can go here to see ARs.  Ava Kate was still not wanting to cooperate very much but at least we got to see her face a little more. She kept her hands by her face the majority of the time. I am 31 weeks and 4 days but I was measuring 33 weeks and 5 days.  According to her measurements her estimated weight is 5 lbs. 5 oz.  But, Anna Riley also measured 1-2 weeks early and always measured big as well.  She was a good, healthy 8 lbs (a week early).  Dr. Poist said that she was just healthy and nothing to worry about and everything would stay the same as far as my due date and c-section date.

Nursery

 We made progress on the nursery this weekend.  It is starting to come together.  It is all painted, furniture together and bedding on.  Now we are waiting to get the curtains in, order the painting for the wall and find other things for the wall and get a light fixture installed.  The closet organizer is being installed tomorrow so I will be busy putting away tons of clothes! 

Weekend:
I love the weekend...doesn't everyone?!  I love getting to spend quality time with family and friends!!
Friday night, I went to dinner at the Tin Top with my friend Bethany.  Our meal was wonderful and I was so glad to get to catch up with her!  I am very thankful for a husband that gives me girl time and doesn't complain! :)
Saturday, Riley spent most of the day getting things finished in the nursery.  Anna Riley and I got out of his way and went to the mall and Target.  Anna Riley played outside most of the afternoon after her nap and Papa Doug came by for a visit.

Later that evening, my parents and aunt and uncle came by to visit after they finished eating.  Anna Riley is crazy about her grandparents!!  She gets so excited to see them!

Moving up:

Sunday was promotion Sunday at our church and so Anna Riley moved up to the next class.  She is just getting so big, so fast!!  I was worried because she just started doing better in the class she is in, and then we were going to have to move her but she did great Sunday! 

Toddler bed update:

Anna Riley is really doing great with her toddler bed.  I am so glad that we made the decision to convert her crib!  Not to jinx anything since I seem to do that, but so far she seems to like it and sleeps much better.  Sometimes when I mention its nap time (especially if she is really tired) she will go in and just lay down...wish it was always that easy!!

31 weeks

Symptoms: I have had a horrible sinus headache pretty much all week and nothing seems to help it.  It is a little better now though.  I am finding it harder and harder to bend over especially since she is so high most of the time!  I have had a few symptoms that I never experienced with Anna Riley that make me think I might have better luck nursing this time.

Weight gain: Still around 22 lbs. but I fluctuate a few pounds give or take all the time.

Movement::  I am at the point now where it just seems like she is running out of room.  It seems that at least a few times a day her butt is in the upper left side and when she moves around it looks so weird!  I havnen't had quite as many lower movements this week but she definitely moves all the time!

Cravings: Nothing really...I am still eating cereal a lot and not just for breakfast.  I always want something sweet but I am trying to not go crazy with the sweets.  I always feel so guilty when I eat so bad but then I think after October, I have to get back to eating really well so I might as well enjoy it while its ok! :)

Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good.  If I wake up in the early morning hours like 4 or 5 sometimes its really hard to go back to sleep and then once I finally do, I am not asleep long before AR wakes up so then I just feel really tired. 

Big Girl Bed

Anna Riley is officially in her big girl bed!  She loves her "new" bed and the minute Riley got it converted, she climbed in and out.  I was a little nervous about how she would do and if she would actually sleep or not.  But, she did great!  She cried for a minute when we walked out and then she climbed right in and went to sleep.  This was the first night in well over a month that she has stayed asleep in her room until morning! She did well during both naps today as well.  She cried a little more during her afternoon nap and she got a book to read but then climbed in her bed and went to sleep.  I am so proud of her!  She did much better than what I was expecting.  I hope that she will continue to like her bed and sleep well but I am not getting my hopes up! 

Weekend

I feel like we had a pretty productive weekend and got a few things done that was on our list. 

Friday night, we had dinner with friends at Iguana Grill and yogurt mountain afterwards.  After putting AR to bed, Riley and I watched a movie. 

Saturday, Riley started painting the nursery.  I am so happy with the color and I think its going to look great with the antique white furniture and the bedding!  While he painted, I spent some time organizing.  I organized some of the bathroom and kitchen.  I really enjoy organizing but sometimes with everything going on, its hard to keep it that way.  I hope to get a lot more organized in the next month!

Anna Riley climbed out of her crib again on Saturday and decided it was playtime.  We had taken the bumpers out and it seemed as though she wouldnt be able to climb out anymore but we were wrong.  She climbed out and Riley heard her running around in her room.  So, we will be converting her bed this week...wish us luck!

This morning, I kept a friend of ours little girl, Sarah.  Sarah's grandmother is in the hospital so her Mom and Dad went to spend some time with her.  Sarah and AR had the best time playing. 

Here is a peek at the color for the nursery.  The person doing the closet is supposed to come out this week and Riley plans to put the bed together sometime this week also.  :)

Fairhope and Friends

We went to Fairhope last weekend and had some friends join us.  Originally, we had planned on going down with Riley's dad but he was still in rehab from his knee replacement so we ask the Tidmore's to go with us.  They are such great people to have on any trip...so easy and laid back!!  We had decided to cook seafood at home rather than going out and I must say it was so nice to not have to get ready and entertain kids at the restaurant and the food was wonderful!   I spent a good portion of the time in my comfy pjs when we weren't out by the bay or pool.   It ended up being a very relaxing weekend! 

The kids enjoyed watching and feeding the geese on Friday evening.

And by the end of the weekend, Anna Riley had fallen in love with Tucker!  But Tucker is at the age where babies and girls are not cool! haha...but we did catch them playing together quite a bit! :)  She asked for Tucker all the way home and even mentioned his name one night this week while eating supper!  So cute!!

So glad we have such amazing friends and our kids can grow up together!
